Five plants that thrive in Barbados

Our island weather is a gift for tropical plants, but salt air near the coast and strong southern sun still need respecting. These five never let us down.

1. Golden Pothos

The friendliest vine in the nursery. Trailing off a shelf in bright or low light, it forgives missed waterings and grows like it's being paid to.

2. Bird of Paradise

A true statement plant that loves direct sun and high humidity, basically a Barbadian local. Give it room; the leaves get wide.

3. Snake Plant

Indestructible, architectural, and happy in almost any light. If you travel or just forget, start here.

4. Boston Fern

Humidity is its love language, which our air provides free of charge. Bright indirect light and weekly water and it fluffs out beautifully.

5. Jade Plant

A succulent that doubles as a small sculpture. Sun-loving, water-light, and it lives for decades, many of our customers inherited theirs.
